Kristina Gudonytė, born in 1949 in Vilnius, is a Lithuanian writer, actress, director and screenwriter. From the age of seven, she lent a child’s voice in dubbing on the national Lithuanian radio television, and was the host of children’s shows, and also acted in children’s television dramas. She studied German studies at the University of Vilnius, graduated in acting from the Academy of Music and Theater in Vilnius. So far, she has published the following books for young people: Cvetlični dvorec (2002), Dnevnik poredne punce (2008, award for the best book of the year for teenagers), Arina with Love (2011), Ida from the Shadow Garden (2012, award for the best book of the year for teenagers ) and They’ll Be Back at the Full Moon (2015). Dnevnik poredne punce is her most popular book and has been translated into several languages, reprinted several times in Lithuania and Russia, and a TV series was made based on this novel. In 2014, Kristina Gudonytė was awarded the Children’s Literature Award by the Ministry of Education and Science of Lithuania for her work for children and teenagers, compelling intellectual and psychological content and a great command of her mother tongue.

Klemen Pisk: While studying Slavistics in Ljubljana, he devoted most of his time to the Polish language and literature. In the spring of 2003, he received the Institute of Cultural studies’ scholarship in Warsaw as a literary translator from Polish. From 2006 to 2009, he lived in Vilnius where he was perfecting his Lithuanian language. In 2009 he attended the 2nd World Congress of Translators of Polish Literature in Cracow. In October 2015, he received the Award of Lithuanian Cultural Institute for merit at the promotion of Lithuanian literature in the world. He has translated more than 30 books into Slovene, mostly from Lithuanian and Polish, and has edited a comprehensive selection of poetry by Czesław Miłosz Zvonovi pozimi (Bells in Winter, 2008).
